How to read these pages

Each treatment page follows the same shape so you can compare them: what the therapy is, who it is usually recommended for, what happens during a session, how many sessions are typical, what to do afterwards and the questions people most often ask.

Where we say a therapy is “traditionally used for” something, we mean that is how it is described in the classical Ayurvedic texts and in everyday Ayurvedic practice. Whether it is right for you, and what it may support in your case, is something only your doctor can assess after examining you.

A note on courses

Many Ayurvedic therapies are given as a course of consecutive days rather than as single sessions. Where that is the case the page says so, with a typical range. The actual number depends on your constitution, the complaint and how you respond, and the doctor will review it as you go.

Questions about our treatments

If your question is not here, ask us before you book. There is no obligation.

Can I book a treatment directly without seeing a doctor?

No. Every therapy at Samatvam follows a consultation with an Ayurvedic doctor, who checks that it is suitable for you and sets the oils, duration and number of sessions. This is both good practice and a requirement of how we operate.

How do I know which treatment I need?

You do not need to know. Book a consultation, describe what is bothering you, and the doctor will suggest a plan. It may involve one therapy, a combination, or only diet and routine changes to begin with.

Are the treatments suitable for everyone?

Most adults can have some form of Ayurvedic therapy, but certain conditions, pregnancy, recent surgery and some medicines change what is safe. This is exactly why the consultation comes first.

Do you treat children?

Please ask at the consultation. Some gentle therapies are used for older children under a doctor's guidance; others are for adults only.

Will the treatments interfere with my regular medicines?

Tell the doctor about everything you take, including supplements. Most therapies can sit alongside conventional treatment, and the doctor will coordinate timing where needed. Never stop a prescribed medicine on your own.
