The first consultation
What happens in the room
- 01
Listening
Your health history, sleep, digestion, energy, work and what you would like to be different. Bring any recent reports or a list of medicines you take.
- 02
Examination
Pulse, tongue, skin and build, along with a conversation about your constitution (prakriti) and current imbalance (vikriti).
- 03
A written plan
What to eat and when, daily routine, herbal preparations and, if suitable, which therapies and how many sessions.
- 04
Review
A follow-up date is set so the plan is adjusted to how you actually respond, not to a template.
Allow 45 to 60 minutes for a first consultation. Follow-ups are usually shorter.
Who the consultation is for
People come to an Ayurvedic doctor for many reasons: digestion that has never quite settled, sleep that is broken, joints that ache in the morning, skin that flares, tiredness that a holiday does not fix, or simply wanting a routine that suits their constitution. Others are recovering from a busy period, a pregnancy or an illness and want support for the body while it steadies.
The doctor will listen to whichever of these applies, examine you, and say honestly what Ayurveda may be able to support and where you should also be seen by another specialty. If something needs urgent conventional care, you will be told so directly.
What you leave with
A written plan, usually covering food and drink, daily and seasonal routine, any herbal preparations and, where the doctor believes they will help, specific therapies with a suggested number of sessions. A review date is set before you leave.
Preparations are dispensed on site and labelled with how and when to take them. If you have questions between visits, the reception team will pass them to your doctor.

Questions about consultations
If your question is not here, ask us before you book. There is no obligation.
Who will I see?
A qualified Ayurvedic doctor. Names and qualifications will be listed on this page before the centre opens.
What should I bring to a first consultation?
Any recent test results or medical reports, a list of medicines and supplements you take, and your Emirates ID or passport. If you have insurance, bring the card, although Ayurvedic cover varies between plans.
How long does a consultation take?
Allow 45 to 60 minutes for the first visit. Follow-up reviews are usually 20 to 30 minutes.
Do I need to stop my current medicines?
No. Do not stop anything prescribed by another doctor. Tell the Ayurvedic doctor what you take and the plan will be built around it.
Can I have a consultation without booking any treatment?
Yes. Many people come for advice on diet, routine or a long-standing complaint and leave with a written plan and, where suitable, herbal preparations. Therapies are only suggested if the doctor thinks they will help.
Do you offer consultations in languages other than English?
Languages spoken by each doctor will be listed on their card above. Please tell us your preference when booking so we can match you.
